The emergence of COVID-19 in early 2020 has given us a severe warning of the limitation of our lives. We were separated from family members, friends, and even the whole world. But it is this kind of separation that allows us to rethink whether physical distance would cause qualitative changes in our living status. When we discuss "distance" further again, it not only represents the distance in the physical sense but has also become a discussion about the abstract distance that could not be measured by a ruler - the relationship between people, environment, and other objects.
We present the core topics of this design festival in the form of Emojis, hoping that these symbols would somehow touch people’s hearts right away, so as to enhance the enjoyment in communicative interaction, and to stimulate people's desire for connections with others. Especially after the pandemic crisis, Emoji symbols, as a rather intuitive and simple sensory connector, has been helping people converse in a friendly manner, thus connecting the deep feelings and emotions in people's hearts, spreading positive energy and creating beauty in daily life.
